Score Order Renamer

Got a folder of score PDFs in the wrong order? This app lets you drag them into the right sequence, add scene-change suffixes, set your numbering style, and rename everything in one click.

Install How to get started

1

Download the right version for your Mac

Not sure which? Click the Apple menu → About This Mac. If it says Apple M1/M2/M3, choose Apple Silicon. Otherwise choose Intel.

2

Open the downloaded .dmg file

Double-click the file in your Downloads folder. A window will appear showing the app. Drag it to your Applications folder.

3

Open the app

Go to Applications and double-click Score Order Renamer to launch it.

4

Choose your folder and rename

Click Choose folder, pick the folder with your PDFs, drag the rows into score order, and click Rename files.

First launch security prompt: macOS may show a warning saying it can't verify the developer. This is normal for apps distributed outside the App Store. To open it anyway: find the app in Applications, right-click it, choose Open, then click Open in the dialog. You only need to do this once.

Features What it does

  • Loads all PDFs from any folder you choose
  • Drag rows or use ▲ ▼ arrows to set score order
  • Add a letter suffix (like a) for scene-change cues — e.g. 01a
  • Choose your padding style: 01, 001, or 1
  • Pick a separator: underscore, hyphen, space, or period
  • Live preview updates as you make changes
  • Rename is safe: uses a two-phase rename to prevent file loss
