Orchestration bills differently than copying: the rate scales with how many lines are on the page. Pick a scale (Broadway, GPL Theatrical, or GPL Non-Theatrical), enter pages with their line counts, and the tiered pricing is handled for you.

Per-page additions tick anything this chart carries on top of the part rate
The 802 worksheet prices no per-page additions under Broadway — the whole ADDITIONS block is General Price List and Symphonic only.
Tip: enter half-page values (e.g. 2.5) for partial pages. Premiums apply to the per-page rate per the Broadway agreement. The instrument name is optional and shows on the printed quote as Reed 1: Single Staff Part. Picking a known instrument snaps the part type and jumps straight to Pages.
Additions come from the ADDITIONS block of the 802 worksheet and are billed per page on top of the part rate, so tick them only on the pages that actually carry that work. Each one greys out when the part type already includes it — chord symbols on a Lead Sheet, lyrics on a Piano-Vocal — so you can’t double-bill. Additions show on the quote as Reed 1: Single Staff Part + Chord Symbols.
Use this for any work not covered by the standard scale: rush fees, flat-rate jobs, non-Broadway work, expenses, or any custom rate you negotiate directly with the client.

Approximates pages from a measure count using the AFM Local 802 measures-per-page guide (each system ~4 measures, first page reserves 2 staves for title). Result is rounded up to the nearest half page. Use in Union Rate jumps to the Union Rate tab with the rounded page count pre-filled.
Standard 4-bar page. Rate scales with line count automatically: a flat base rate for 10 lines or fewer, then per-line additions for lines 11–19 and lines 20+. The calculator applies tier pricing per the active scale. Editing (1.5x) only applies to GPL scales (not Broadway).
For adding parts to an already-orchestrated score. Per-line rate, up to 10 lines per page.
Transcribing a melody from voice, instrument, or mechanical device (one staff with chord symbols and lyrics). Priced as a flat rate for the first 32 bars, plus an additional rate for each subsequent 32-bar block (partial blocks round up to a full block).
Transcribing lead lines from a mechanical device and recreating an orchestration with similar voicing. Calculated as the applicable orchestration page rate plus a per-page surcharge.
Piano reduction from a full score. Note: per the scale, this category only has a published rate under the General Price List Non-Theatrical scale. If you have a different scale selected, switch to GPL Non-Theatrical or use a Custom line item to negotiate a rate directly.
For anything not covered by the standard scale: rush premiums, flat fees, supervision adjustments, or any negotiated custom rate.
Library/proofreading rate $46.38/hr applies. Minimum 4-hour call. Hours entered here are billed in addition to per-page work.
Toggle on the contributions you want to include in the quote. Pension and Health rates depend on the active scale (Broadway or GPL). Health Benefits use a daily flat rate; enter the number of work days below to compute it correctly.
This page keeps your work as you go, so closing the tab and coming back picks up where you left off. That copy lives in this browser only — it does not survive clearing your site data, it does not follow you to another machine, and it holds one job at a time.
Saving to a file gets around all three. You get an ordinary
.json file in your Downloads folder that you can keep
alongside the job, back up, or move to another computer, and one file per
job means you can have several going at once. Nothing is uploaded either
way; the file is written by your browser and never leaves your machine.
A saved file contains whatever you typed, including client and project names. Treat it like any other job paperwork. On a shared computer, use Forget This Browser’s Copy when you are done.

This calculator is for estimating purposes and does not constitute a binding agreement.

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and the PDF is generated locally. Nothing is uploaded. Your work is saved on your own machine so you can come back to it: automatically in this browser, and to a file you keep if you want it to outlast the browser or move to another computer.
Use custom line items with your own rates. The math and the PDF quote work the same way.
