ScoreOrder

Got a folder of score PDFs in the wrong order? This app lets you drag them into the right sequence, add scene-change suffixes, set your numbering style, and rename everything in one click.

Prototype. The web version below is an early build that runs entirely in your browser; your files never leave your machine. In Chrome or Edge it can rename files right in the folder. In other browsers it downloads the renamed set as a ZIP. Prefer a native app? The free Mac version is further down the page.

Use It in Your Browser

No files yet. Open a folder, choose PDFs, or drop them here.

How It Works

  • Loads all PDFs from any folder you choose
  • Drag rows or use the arrows to set score order
  • Mark a row as a cue to give it a letter suffix, e.g. 01a after 01
  • Choose your padding style: 01, 001, or 1
  • Pick a separator: underscore, hyphen, space, or period
  • Live preview updates as you make changes
  • Renaming is safe: a two-phase rename prevents file loss when numbers swap
  • Accesses only the folder or files you choose
  • No uploads. Everything happens locally in your browser

Free Mac App

The desktop version, Score Order Renamer, does the same job as a native Mac app with Finder integration. Download it, drag it to Applications, and you are set.

Signed & notarized. As of v1.1.0 the app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without security warnings — no right-click workaround needed. Not sure which download? Click the Apple menu → About This Mac: if it says Apple M1/M2/M3, choose Apple Silicon; otherwise choose Intel.

No ads. No sign-up. Free to use. If this tool saved you time, a small tip helps keep it online. Any amount, no pressure.
